A 26-year-old man was found dead in his hotel room last week on the Spanish island of Ibiza. He was a tourist who was thought to have been in Spain for only a few days.

His name has not yet been released and cause of his death has yet to be ascertained as Spanish authorities are waiting for the results of tests. It is thought, however, that no suspicious circumstances contributed to his death.

The British Foreign Office would only say that they knew about the Scottish man’s death, and that the next of kin had been notified.

This, unfortunately, is not the first death of a British tourist on Ibiza this year, nor likely the last either.

A British man fell from his hotel room window to his death in September when, after spending the night drinking, came back to his hotel, leaned out of the window to throw up and fell to his death.

Twelve other Britons have also been killed falling out of hotel windows or off balconies this year — most of them either on the islands of Ibiza or Majorca.
