Restaurant Review: Trobador on Calle Ferran in Barcelona

Looking for a good Mediterranean restaurant in Barcelona? Then head to Trobador on Calle Ferran. One of a large chain of restaurants owned by the Cacheiro Group, the Trobador side of the chain has not only delicious food but stylish restaurants too. They’re all fabulous, but the branch on Calle Ferran is our favorite.

Start off at the bar with a drink and a few tapas — the crab salad wrapped in smoked salmon is incredible. Then move to a table and try their king prawn skewers with bacon — delicious. Main dishes include pork loin with mushroom sauce, charcoal grilled T-bone steak, a number of fish and meat dishes, and a large variety of pastas.

Or, if you’d like a large meal for a reasonable price, go with their set menu. For less than 30 euros you’ll get a number of appetizers, a main course, bread, dessert, two glasses of wine and tea or coffee.

If you want a relaxed, quiet atmosphere then Trobador probably isn’t for you. It’s loud and a bit frantic but, for a fun place to eat while people watching, it’s amazing. Staff is friendly and service is fast. We love the theater-style design too.
