If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel in Barcelona that’s still clean, comfortable, has all the amenities and is in a perfect location, you honestly can’t beat the Hotel Cortes.
Barcelona’s Hotel Cortes is located right in the Gothic Quarter close to Las Ramblas and the Avenida Portal de L’Angel, one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations. That means many of Barcelona’s tourist destinations are within walking distance.
The hotel is also surrounded by cafes, restaurants, close to a pharmacy, several banks, and a supermarket.
As for the Hotel Cortes itself, the rooms are clean, comfortable and, although on the small side, still have all the amenities you could possibly need including free Wi-Fi internet, TV, air-conditioning, safe, mini fridge, private bathrooms and, if you have kids with you, cribs and extra beds are also available.
The hotel also has a small bar and three restaurants – perfect for a cozy drink or in case you prefer to eat in.
Prices off-season at the Hotel Cortes are as low as $80 – a price which is unbelievably cheap considering that includes a buffet breakfast and is for a hotel this superbly located.
Rooms available include single rooms right up to quadruple rooms and, of course, the ‘marriage room’ — meaning rooms with a double bed rather than two single beds pushed together.
Don’t forget, if you like what you see, you may want to book a room at the Hotel Cortes well in advance as rooms do tend to sell out very quickly.
(For instance, I just checked for a room in November, 2019 and they are already fully booked for the days I was interested in).
