American travel writer Rick Steves’ has just uploaded an entire episode of one of his excellent travel shows – Rick Steves’ Andalucia: The Best of Southern Spain – to YouTube, and it’s an absolutely fabulous show.
In it, Rick Steves travels Andalucia to Jerez, Granada, Nerja, Cordoba, Gibraltar, Sevilla and Ronda. He visits the Jerez Fair, the School of Equestrian Art, an Jerez sherry bodega, the Alhambra, the Balcony of Europe in Nerja, Cordoba’s enormous old mosque and much more.
He also talks a lot about Spanish history, the rich Moorish and Muslim culture Spain is built on, and delves into why cities like Granada are no longer the powerhouses they used to be.
