In the last 30 years, Alicante has become a mecca for golfers visiting Spain. With more than 15 golf courses within an hour’s drive of Alicante, golfers visiting the area won’t know where to start. Alicante area golf courses range from easy to extremely difficult but these three golf clubs offer the best courses in the area and for prices far cheaper than in the US and much of Europe.
El Plantio Camp de Golf – One of Alicante’s best golf clubs, El Plantio has an 18-hole golf course which is a par 72 championship course known for its excellent design and beautiful location. Situated in a lovely area on the outskirts of Alicante, the club also has a 9-hole course, a practice course, putting green and a golf school.
If you’re a golf fanatic and want to spend most of your vacation golfing, El Plantio has a five-star hotel and apartment complex, with 98 units boasting two or three rooms, with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and terrace (some of which overlook the golf course). There are also several world-class restaurants and a golf shop.

Alicante Golf – Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, the 18-hole golf course at Alicante Golf is a flat course with a par of 72, several lakes and artificial rivers, generous fairways and greens that can be seen from a long distance. Ballesteros even added a design of Roman ruins at one of the holes, which makes it interesting to play.
The club also has a putting green, practice green, driving range and a chipping area. There’s a club house, a golf shop and, if you’re in need of a few lessons, private lessons are also available for a reasonable price.
If you’re planning on golfing every day, there are also a variety of excellent hotels near Alicante Golf, offering comfortable accommodation and first-class dining facilities.

Alenda Golf – Alenda Golf is at the foot of the Sierra de la Aguilas mountains just a 15 minute drive from Alicante so, as you can imagine, the views here are spectacular. The golf course is 6.2 kilometers in length and is an 18-hole course with a 72 par and is playable by all levels of golfer.
Alenda Golf has a large driving range, a practice bunker and chipping range and a gorgeous clubhouse with pro shop and excellent restaurant and bar. The club has tennis courts and paddle tennis. There are also several villas and self-catering apartments overlooking the golf course, if you’d like to spend much of your vacation golfing here.
