Top Ocean Front Coffee Shops and Cafes in Albir, Spain
Spain is known for its sidewalk cafes and Albir, on the Costa Blanca, is no exception. Situated right on the Mediterranean, Albir’s ocean front cafes and coffee shops are perfect for coffee lovers and sun worshippers both.
Paradise Cafe – Located right on the ocean front on the second story of a cafe/restaurant building, Paradise Cafe has spectacular views out over the promenade and ocean and serves superb food and delicious cafe con leches.
Designed like a British pub, the cafe has inside seating with a big screen TV for music videos and sporting events and cozy seating, perfect if the weather is a bit cold. Outside on the balcony there are tables overlooking several other cafes as well as the blue Mediterranean and the beach and promenade. A perfect place to sit on a lovely day, sipping cafe con leches and watching thousands of Spaniards and tourists stroll along the promenade on their daily walks.
Check out the superb bocadillas (sandwiches on French baguettes), delicious pizzas, and excellent burgers.
Paradise Cafe is right on the ocean front just around the corner from Albir’s post office.
Las Palmeras – If you like beach side cafes with stunning ocean views, Las Palmeras is another of Albir’s best cafes where you can enjoy one. On the same area of beach front as Paradise Cafe, but on a patio right below it, Las Palmeras serves snacks, cakes, desserts and full meals, along with delicious cafe con leches, and a good beer and wine selection.
Prices are inexpensive and with their daily specials of things like coffee and brandy, or a cafe con leche with apple pie for only 3 euros ($4.20) (and it’s one of the best apple pies in Albir), you can hang out here for a few hours, enjoy the ocean view, watch the crowds walk by and get a little sun.
Las Palmeras has a large tapas menu and also serves burgers, sandwiches, chili, bocadillas, salads, pancakes and an excellent English breakfast. Portions are large, the beach side location is gorgeous and the staff is lovely.
You’ll find Las Palmeras right below Paradise Cafe, around the corner from Albir’s small post office.
The Deck at the Hotel Kaktus Albir – One of the loveliest cafes to enjoy a coffee, beer, glass of wine or a light meal in Albir, while watching the beach crowd walk by, is on the deck at the Hotel Kaktus Albir. Located just a block and a half down the street from Las Palmeras, prices are slightly more expensive (cafe con leches are 2 euros 50 cents ($3.50), but the atmosphere is lovely and the place a little more exclusive.
Seats are outside the main entrance of the hotel, on a large wooden deck overlooking the promenade, beach and ocean. You can order inside, or a waiter will come out and serve you if you want the full service.
The Hotel Kaktus Albir cafe has a full bar menu with an excellent wine selection, some of the best cocktails and mixed drinks in Albir (try their brandy and ginger or sangria), and serves light food items like sandwiches, bocadillas and pizza.
