Things to See and Do in Benitachell on Spain’s Costa Brava

Just a small Spanish village in the province of Alicante, Benitachell is popular as a retirement spot for British expats, although, at first glance, there isn’t much to do here. You may be surprised, though, as to what there actually is to do. Far more than you may think.

It does have a lovely, Mediterranean climate with an average temperature of 18 degrees centigrade though, and is a great place to enjoy relaxing on the beach, diving, taking long walks in the fresh sea air, or having a boat ride.

If you have your own boat, there is even a small jetty where you can moor it.

Benitachell is only a five minute drive from both Javea and Moraira, which is what many of its foreign residents love — close to other places to shop and dine, but living in a quiet village with no stress or worry.

Benitachell has a small beach, a couple of supermarkets, several shops and a number of excellent restaurants, particularly those serving the local fresh fish and seafood.

There are also several world-class golf courses within an hour of Benitachell, Terra Mitica — the huge amusement park — is close by, as is the town of Calpe with its hundreds of restaurants, stores, banks, supermarkets and cafes. Alicante and Benidorm too are less than an hour’s drive away.

If you are looking for a quiet holiday in Spain in a village that is still close to plenty of other places, just in case you feel like being a bit more social, a holiday in Benitachell might just be what you’re looking for.
