British tourists in Spain spend more than any other nationality
Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism must be pleased with British tourists. That is because, in the first six months of 2013, British tourists in Spain have spent more than any other nationality.
In fact, not only have they spent more, the actual amount of money British tourists in Spain have spent this year is up 5.6 percent from the same time last year.
How much do Brits spend in Spain every day?
Average daily spending has actually increased by every nationality of tourist but, yet again, the British spend more per day than any other nationality in Spain — an average of 110 euros per person.
In fact, so far in 2013, Brits have spent 20 percent of all the tourist money coming into the country.
Of course, that might be because there are more Brits coming to Spain than just about any other nationality but they do spend more, so nobody should be complaining.
Which other nationalities of tourist spend the most money in Spain?
In second place, by the way, were the Germans. Closely followed by Scandinavians and the French.
Scandinavian tourists and the French, however, have seen a much larger increase in their spending in Spain percentage-wise than even the British, with Scandinavians spending increased by 15.4 percent and the French by more than 18 percent.
All I can say is thank heavens for tourists coming to Spain, and especially for the Brits, or the dismal Spanish economy would be in a worse place than it already is.
